Local Organizing Committee

The chair of the Local Organization Committee(LOC) is Dr. Hiroshi Tanimoto.

Hiroshi Tanimoto is Head of the Global Atmospheric Chemistry Section at the National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES), in Tsukuba, Japan. He received his Ph.D. in Atmospheric Chemistry from the University of Tokyo in 2001 and has been a tenured scientist at NIES since 2001. Hiroshi’s primary research involves air quality in Asian/Oceanic regions as well as the air-sea exchange of volatile organic compounds and their role in the Earth system. He is currently a co-chair of the Scientific Steering Committee of IGAC, a chair of the IGAC-Japan National Committee, and a leading co-chair of IGAC-MANGO, which was founded in 2015. Hiroshi was born and raised in Takamatsu.

The other members of the Local Organization Committee are five atmospheric chemists actively developing their research career in Japan and are sitting on the IGAC-Japan National Committee.

Not only these members, but also all of the IGAC-Japan National Committee members
are committed to fully supporting the preparation for the conference. Also, the Japan
Society of Atmospheric Chemistry (JpSAC) will support the LOC in regard to
