TRANSPORTATION FROM/TO AIRPORT

Takamatsu Airport is located 15 km south of the convention district. Travel from the airport to the convention center takes about 45 min by limousine bus (760 JPY), which departs in correspondence with the departing/arriving flights. Bus departure is adjusted accordingly if landings are delayed. Buses from Takamatsu Airport to Takamatsu Station run from 9.15am until 9.30pm.
Taxis are also available at the airport, and these take approximately 30 min (~5,000 JPY).

Buses from Takamatsu Station to Takamatsu Airport depart from bus stop No 3 in front of the station.

ACCESS TO TAKAMATSU STATION BY TRAIN

You can get to Takamatsu Station from Tokyo by the JR Tokaido/Sanyo Shinkansen “bullet trains”. Get off at Okayama Station and transfer to the JR Marine Liner rapid train to Takamatsu. The entire journey takes about 4.5 hours if using a Nozomi train along the Tokaido/Sanyo Shinkansen or about 30-60 minutes longer if using Hikari trains.
The journey is fully covered by the Japan Rail Pass if you use Hikari and Sakura trains along the Tokaido/Sanyo Shinkansen, but the pass is not valid on Nozomi and Mizuho trains.

JAPAN RAIL PASS

“JAPAN RAIL PASS” is a special fare ticket available for foreign visitors to allow them to go sightseeing. It can be used on all JR Shinkansen trains (except for “Nozomi” and “Mizuho” trains), limited express trains, express trains and rapid or local trains; local lines of JR bus (except travel on express bus routes). For ferry crossings, only the JR-WEST Miyajima ferry is covered.

You will need to buy an “Exchange Order” at one of the sales offices or through agents BEFORE coming to Japan, and stop by one of the JAPAN RAIL PASS exchange offices (located at major JR stations) upon arrival, in order to receive your JAPAN RAIL PASS. There are special terms concerning eligibility, validity, and conditions of use.
