**Early Career scientist is a current student or a scientist within 3 working years of completing their PhD, excluding career breaks.**

The 2018 iCACGP/IGAC Early Career Short Course will take place the 3-days prior to the joint 14th iCACGP Quadrennial Symposium/15th IGAC Science Conference.
The short course is for 40 selected early career scientists.
The application to the Early Career Short Course is part of the abstract submission process, which opens 15 January 2018.
The application for the Early Career Short Course requires:
- Abstract submission to the 2018 joint 14th iCACGP Quadrennial Symposium/15th Science Conference
- The name and email address of someone that IGAC will request to submit a letter of recommendation on your behalf.
- A letter of intent on why you think you are a good candidate to attend the Early Career Short Course and what you expect to gain from attending the Early Career Short Course.
There is no registration fee to attend the Early Career Short Course. The selected 40 participants will have their lodging and meals for the duration of the short course paid for. Participants are responsible for airfare, unless they receive an Early Career Travel Grant to attend the 2018 joint 14th iCACGP Quadrennial Symposium/15th IGAC Science Conference that includes airfare, visa fees, and ground transportation.
